How we charge
There is no price list, and the reason is not coyness
Scope decides the number, and we will not pretend otherwise on a website. What can be written down before we have met is the order the money moves in, what actually moves it, and what we will not do to you.
The order
What we commit to is the order
Not a figure — a sequence. Each of these exists to stop a specific way these projects go wrong, and each one costs us something to promise.
- STEP 01
A written diagnosis first
Two weeks inside the operation, mapping how the work is actually done, documenting every system in use including the spreadsheets nobody mentions in meetings, and interviewing the people doing the work rather than only the people who own the budget. The written diagnosis is yours to act on even if you never hire us, including taking it to another firm.
- STEP 02
Then a fixed scope at a fixed price
Before you commit to any delivery work. No open-ended engagement, and no day-rate meter running against an open backlog. A change to scope is repriced in writing before anyone writes the code, not absorbed quietly into a backlog and billed later.
- STEP 03
Then phases you can stop after
No phase starts before the one before it is usable. If the programme is cancelled after phase two, phase two still has to be worth what it cost — big-bang plans concentrate all the value behind the riskiest date in the schedule.
What moves it
What actually moves the number
Scope, and we will not pretend otherwise on a website. What moves it: the number of legal entities, the number of processes that genuinely differ from standard, the state of the data being migrated, how many existing systems have to stay and be integrated, and how much custom code the operation really needs once the design is finished rather than when it is being wished for.
The largest cost in these projects never appears on an invoice. It is the second implementation, bought because the first one was scoped from a demonstration.
Commitments
What we will not do
These are the ones that decide most of our arguments with clients, usually in the client's favour a year later.
- We will not put a price on a website without having seen the scope.
- We do not price a requirements list we have not tested against your operation.
- We do not sell open-ended day-rate development against a backlog that never closes.
- We do not make the diagnosis conditional on hiring us for the delivery.
Licences
The licence bill is not ours, and nobody can print it honestly
The line most buyers ask about first is the one no consultancy can quote on a web page. List prices are discounted, editions are bundled, and headcount changes the answer — anything printed here would be a number we made up.
So the estimator does not print one. It works from the single figure any vendor will give you in one email — your own annual licence cost — and expresses every other line as a multiple of it, with the multipliers shown on screen rather than hidden.

Tell us what is actually breaking
Two lines is enough to know whether this is a system problem, a process problem or a governance problem — and whether there is anything here worth buying at all.
